From Kumayri to Gyumri is an interactive multimedia e-Guide seeking to preserve the historical memory and help imagine the future of the city, by documenting, analyzing and sharing the cultural heritage and informative maps of Gyumri with local and international audiences. This e-Book aims to discover Gyumri as a cultural heritage tourism destination, as well as engage visitors, virtually or in person, with dynamic 3D maps and multimedia stories of its architectural past and present. With its interactive platform, compatible for mobile devices, audiences can discover the city virtually or use this e-Guide to supplement an in-person visit to Gyumri.
The current version includes an exploration of twelve landmarks situated in the “downtown” area of the Kumayri historic district and dynamic 3D and VR maps to further discover the city. More landmarks will be added and new informative content will be developed over time to present the rich urban mosaic of Armenia’s cultural capital.
The project has been designed as part of a collaboration between the My Armenia Program, the AGBU Armenian Virtual College, and the City Research Center.
