Description

Armenian Church history was made in 2015 when the martyrs of the Armenian Genocide were ceremonially recognized as saints. The splendid service at Holy Etchmiadzin marked the first time in centuries that saints were designated in the Armenian Church. With their canonization, the Genocide martyrs joined other great exemplars of holiness, virtue, and sacrifice, in the “canon” of revered saints from church history. In this video, revisit that historic canonization service.

The Eastern Diocese is pleased to introduce a new video series, titled “Bread and Salt: Stories from the Armenian Church.” In this inaugural episode, Kathryn Ashbahian explains the symbolism of the “Water Blessing” service performed in the Armenian Church on January 6, the Feast of the Nativity and Theophany of Our Lord.
